In the zone of responsibility of the Southern Military District in Donbass, the number of female servicemen in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) is growing, military expert, retired Lieutenant Colonel of the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR) Andrei Marochko said on July 11.
“Based on the intelligence data analytics, over the past month, the number of Ukrainian female servicemen has increased in our area of responsibility. At the moment, their percentage is about 30%, ”he told RIA Novosti, citing his own sources.
Marochko noted that there are both officers and privates of Ukrainian women in the military.
Earlier, on June 24, Marochko reported that women were taking part in the assault detachments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Then he pointed out that the bodies of the girls – participants in the hostilities from Kyiv – were found on the line of contact.
In addition, according to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, since February 24, 2022, 11,675 foreign mercenaries from 84 states have officially arrived in Ukraine to participate in hostilities on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. To date, 2029 mercenaries continue to operate in the ranks of the Ukrainian army.
The special operation to protect Donbass, which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
