Ahmedabad: Chennai Super Kings coach Stephen Fleming thanked the fans after the IPL final between CSK and Gujarat Titans was postponed.
The IPL final was scheduled to take place yesterday (May 28 – Sunday) at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans are playing in this match. But due to heavy rain yesterday, the match was delayed as planned.
The match was postponed today (May 29) after talks between the coaches of the two teams, Ashish Nehra and Stephen Fleming and the referees, Nitin Menon and Rod Tucker. Accordingly, the match will start at 7.30 pm today.
Following the postponement of the match, Chennai Super Kings coach Stephen Fleming thanked the fans on his Twitter page.
He has tweeted about this, “The final is not far away. So now is the perfect time to say thank you for all the support our team has received this year. We all understand your love for Captain Dhoni. But seeing yellow all over the stadium is a wonderful experience. Enjoy tonight.”
The IPL final has been postponed for the first time. If Chennai Super Kings win this match, they will become the team that has won the IPL champion for the 5th time after Mumbai. Similarly, if Gujarat wins, they will become the team behind Mumbai and Chennai to win the title in two consecutive seasons.
Not long now until the final game so a perfect time to say ‘thank you’ for all the support that the team has received this year. We all understand the love for the captain but to see the grounds so full of yellow has been truly amazing. Enjoy tonight, it should be a cracker.
