Brazilian Anthony, a player for the English Manchester United football team, faced new allegations from two other women of violence, after previous similar allegations that caused him to be excluded from the Brazilian national team roster.
The 23-year-old was excluded from the Brazilian national team list a few days ago, following allegations from his ex-girlfriend Gabriela Cavalin that he had used violence against her more than once since last January.
The player denied Kavalin’s allegations, but police are still investigating them.
And the Brazilian newspaper “Extra” stated that a law student named Raisa de Freitas had submitted a police report against Anthony in May 2022, claiming that she had suffered injuries as a result of violent behavior involving the player and another woman, after spending an evening in São Paulo.
A banker named Ingrid Lana also revealed, in statements to the Brazilian channel Record TV, another incident that occurred at Anthony’s home in Manchester last October, where she said that he pushed her against the wall and she suffered a shock to her head.
Lana added: Anthony tried to have a relationship with me and I didn’t want that. My purpose was only to work, and when I arrived there at his invitation, I realized that he had another purpose.
British news agency BA Media has contacted Manchester United, but the club has made no comment on the new allegations.
Manchester United issued a statement on Wednesday regarding Cavalin’s allegations, stating: Manchester United acknowledges the allegations made against Anthony, and we would also like to point out that the police are still conducting their investigations.
He added: The club will not make any comments on the matter until it has more information.
He continued: Manchester United takes the matter seriously, taking into account the impact of these allegations and reports on survivors of abuse.
