On Saturday, August 12, two teams struggling with serious problems met in Kielce. The team of the local Korona started the league struggles in the current season in not the best style, not sinning with an effective and effective game. The inaugural draw with Śląsk Wrocław after a sexless game, as well as a painful defeat with ŁKS after a goal almost in the last action of the match, are not a reason to be proud.
The fans, however, hoped that the statistics would turn out to be insurmountable and that their team would continue the great series at their own stadium. They made use of the fact that their beloved the team has not lost 9 of the last 10 home matches (7 wins, 2 draws and only one defeat).
The censored section also includes Jan Urban’s players, who, after disastrous matches with Radomiak and Warta Poznań, managed to win a point against the favored Piast Gliwice. The Zabrze team is the only one who has not scored a league goal yet, which just before the first whistle in Kielce put their offensive in a terrible light.
A sleepy spectacle in Kielce. Górnik won the match in extra time

Górnik Zabrze gained a slight advantage in the first ten minutes of this match, who decided to speed up the game and wanted to set the tone for the events on the pitch.

A moment later, Korona’s players constructed a dangerous action, but Remacle’s strong shot landed in Daniel Bielica’s gloves. The guests withdrew slightly, giving the initiative to the players from Kielce, but the optical advantage, as well as several situations, did not translate into anything concrete.
In the later stage of the first half, Jan Urban’s players looked much better, who, apart from ambitious fights for almost every ball, showed purely football quality, constructing some really impressive situations. Unfortunately, due to poor efficiency, Dziekoński did not have to boast about his goalkeeping skills until the 34th minute.
That’s when a free kick from the left side of the pitch by Kryspin Szczęśniak could have found a place in the net. However, an alumnus stood in the way of the ball Jagiellonia Bialystok and beautiful intervention The result was still 0-0 on the scoreboard.
The hosts tried to bite back with quick counterattacks, but they were unable to surprise Górnik’s defense, which during the first 45 minutes looked really solid.
The last accent of the first part was Ronaldo Deacon’s protracted cross, which the almost unemployed Bielica caught without any major problems, showing off his jumpiness.
The second part of the clash in Kielce was better started by the players of the local Korona, who bravely rushed to the attack, wanting to quickly start their rival. In the 48th minute, a biting strike by Jakub Łukowski slightly missed Górnik’s goal, causing a huge groan of disappointment in the stands.
Korona did not intend to stop, and penetrating passes pierced the defensive line of Górnik Zabrze with unusual frequency. However, they did not bring the intended effect, because Paweł Olkowski and Rafał Janicki effectively neutralized them. With every minute, the hosts emphasized their presence on the pitch more and more, attacking Daniel Bielica’s goal more and more boldly, but, as in the first half, there was no efficiency.
In the last quarter of an hour, the game finally opened up, with both teams more boldly rushed to the attack. The first to start a dangerous action was “Górnicy”, but Dziekoński reported to the post, who showed excellent reflexes and defended an uncomfortable shot. A moment later, Zabrze’s guests doubled in the penalty area, but in both situations Daniel Bielica showed great positioning, still keeping a clean sheet.
The hearts of Korona fans beat much stronger in the 82nd minute, when one of Górnik’s defenders played the ball with his hand in the penalty area. Referee Paweł Raczkowski interpreted Jensen’s behavior as unintentional, thus he did not decide to point to the eleventh meter.
Ultimately, the team of Górnik Zabrze delivered a powerful blow, which took the lead in the 91st minute and secured three extremely important points. Rafał Janicki scored the winning goal for the club from Silesia in added time, causing great embarrassment to the local fans.
