Investigators are considering three versions of the death of the mayor of Krivoy Rog Konstantin Pavlov, including the murder. On August 16, the head of the communications department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Artem Shevchenko told the Ukrainian channel “Ukraine 24” about this.
“Criminal proceedings have been registered under article 115“ Murder ”, initial investigative actions are being carried out. Of course, the number of options is limited here: this is murder, suicide, or careless handling of weapons. This happens, I mean the latter, ”Shevchenko said.
On Monday, the deputy chief of the Dnipropetrovsk region police Oleg Slipchuk said at a briefing that the investigation did not rule out the version that the mayor of the Ukrainian city could be driven to suicide.
On Sunday, Pavlov was found dead in the village of Volnoe in Ukraine on his own plot.
According to the press service of the regional department of the national police, a gunshot wound was found on the body. A criminal case was initiated under the article “Intentional Murder”.
On the same day, a friend of the murdered man, a former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, Andrei Galchenko, said that Pavlov was going to open the door, after which they shot him.
The party “Opposition Platform – For Life” (OLE) considers the possible murder of Pavlov, who was a member of the party, a terrorist act.
It is noted that Pavlov was one of the leaders of the party, and the current government in Kiev could receive the main benefit from his death. As stated in the message of the PLO, the victory of the politician in the elections was a “cold shower” for the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
The PLO expects that the authorities will pass off murder as suicide, so the party recalled that Pavlov was a young, ambitious and deeply religious person.
