The authorities of Kazakhstan intend to close the trade representation in Russia. This is stated in the draft resolution of the government of the country, posted on February 1 on the republican website “Open legal acts”.
The document “On Some Issues of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan” states that the government of the country makes a decision liquidate the state institution “Trade Representation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Russian Federation” of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan.
As follows from the explanatory note to the document, the order of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan dated January 24 became the basis for the adoption of the resolution.
“The adoption of the project will not entail negative socio-economic and legal consequences,” it says.
It is also argued that the provisions of the project will not harm the national security of Kazakhstan.
Public discussion of the project will last until February 15.
The parties signed an agreement on the mutual establishment of trade missions of Russia and Kazakhstan in October 1992. Astana ratified the document in 2012.
The priorities of the work of the trade mission are assistance to exporters and distributors in entering and securing on the Russian market and attracting investments. Damir Adilbekov acts as a trade representative of Kazakhstan.
As Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in November, Kazakhstan is an important partner and ally for Russia. He noted that the development of Kazakhstan is in the interests of the inhabitants of both countries.
