The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation has softened the requirements for the equipment of checkpoints. The corresponding order came into force on June 12.
As follows from a previously published document on the legal information portal, a sound level meter and a compressor have been removed from the list of mandatory equipment for a technical inspection point. The minimum depth of the inspection ditch can be 1.1 m (previously 1.5 m). The requirement to enter the address of the technical inspection point into the Federal Information Address System has been eliminated. Changed requirements for brake stands.
Also, specialists of the Russian Union of Motor Insurers (RSA) will not audit ventilation and heating in the premises during inspections.
Sergey Efremov, Deputy Executive Director of the RAMI, told the Kommersant newspaper that, taking into account the changes, it will be easier for candidates for operators. According to the head of the checkpoint in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Ivan Kekin (operator of Mars LLC), the easing of requirements is perceived as a step towards business. In his opinion, the simplification of entry into the industry of new operators will have a positive impact on the availability of technical inspection services.
Before that, on March 16, it became known that the Russian government changed the procedure for technical inspection of cars. Excluded from the list of mandatory technical inspection checks are the noise levels of the exhaust system, windshield washer, engine leaks, gearboxes, final drives, rear axle, etc. In addition, it was decided to refuse to check the presence of a first aid kit, a fire extinguisher and an emergency stop sign. The new rules will come into effect on September 1 this year.
