Newsweek and Statista Inc. presented the results of the “America’s Most Trusted Companies,” which includes 700 companies in 23 industries.
In an independent survey based on a sample of approximately 25,000 US residents, companies were rated on three public pillars of trust, including: customer confidence, investor confidence and employee confidence.
The study examined a group of 3,100 US-based companies (1,800 public and 1,300 private) with revenues in excess of $500 million.
“Because trust plays an important role in customer decisions about what to buy, employee decisions about where to work, and investors’ decisions about whether to invest, Newsweek, in collaboration with market research partner Statista, is proud to present our second annual list of America’s Most Trustworthy Companies. United,” wrote Nancy Cooper, Newsweek’s global editor-in-chief.
Well-known names stand out in this year’s ranking, from Quaker Oats in the food and beverage category, to 7-11 in supermarkets and convenience stores to Walmart in retail. The retail category had the most winners with 61 companies on our list, followed by 47 for energy and utilities and 46 for food and beverage.
