According to the police investigation, Uppalapati Deepchand (29) of Unguturu mandal of Krishna district was murdered by his father himself. The parents said that their son bled to death after hitting his head on the sharp edge of the bed on Tuesday morning. But the police who inspected the incident place became suspicious and conducted an investigation.. shocking facts came out. ‘Deep Chand, who does interior work in Vijayawada, took loans from all the people he knew for building a house and for other needs. Deep Chand incurred debts of more than Rs.50 lakhs. As he did not pay his debts, those who gave money started asking his parents. Due to this, quarrels started in the family. Deep Chand’s mother Rama felt that if the situation continued like this, their family would be lost. He came to the conclusion that even if he killed his son, the pain of the debtors would not be worth it. So she decided to kill her son as per the plan. When the husband went out for work, as per the plan, he was hit four times with a mortar and pestle and he died on the spot.
She told the same story to her husband who returned home after weaving a story that he died accidentally. The police received information that a person was lying in a pool of blood in the bedroom. When her parents were detained and interrogated, she confessed to the murder. As a result, Uppalapati Rama, the mother of the deceased, was arrested and produced before the court, said the DSP.
The police took both the parents of the deceased into custody. After the postmortem, the dead body of Deep Chand was moved to Pedda Avatapalli. The police allowed only the father to attend the funeral and kept the mother in their custody.
