Beijing | The new energy vehicle market has become a new point of economic development in China. The production and sales of new energy vehicles in China in the first half of 2022 were 2.661 million and 2.6 million, respectively, up 1.2 times from the same period in 2021. Since 2015, the production and sales of new energy vehicles in China have ranked first in the world for seven consecutive years.
New energy vehicles are very popular in rural areas. With the liberal policy of the Chinese government, the sales of new energy vehicles in rural areas reached one million in 2021, an increase of 169 percent compared to the year 2020. In the year 2022, 70 types of cars from 26 companies were sold in rural areas.
In the year 2020, 2 lakh 24 thousand new energy vehicles were exported from China, while in the year 2021 this number increased to 5 lakh 90 thousand. In the first 11 months of 2022, China exported more than one million new energy vehicles to foreign countries. In addition to Southeast Asia, South America and Africa, China’s new energy vehicles are also becoming popular in countries such as Belgium and the United Kingdom.
