SKOPJE (AA) – The new “Diamond Mall” shopping center, built by the “Limak” Group, has opened in Skopje, reports Anadolu.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Dimitar Kovacevski, the First Deputy Prime Minister Artan Grubi, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Oliver Spasovski, the Minister of Finance, Fatmir Besimi, the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, Ljupco Nikolovski, the honorary president of the Limak Group “, Nihat Ozdemir, the ambassador of Turkey in North Macedonia, Hasan Mehmet Sekizçok, the representatives of Turkish organizations and institutions in the country, mayors and a large number of invited guests.
The Honorary President of Limak Group, Ozdemir, expressed excitement that they are taking an important step within the framework of the Diamond of Skopje project, which consists of residential buildings, a hotel, business premises and a shopping center.
He emphasized that the shopping center “Diamond Mall”, built on an area of 48,000 square meters, will revitalize the economy not only of Skopje, but also of the country and the Balkans, and will contribute to employment.
“This shopping center, which we are opening today, is the last link of the “Diamond of Skopje” project, which costs 350 million euros and provides 1,000 jobs from various sectors,” emphasized Ozdemir, adding that the “Diamond of Skopje” project will be fully completed towards the end of 2024.
“After 9 days we will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey. Our goal is to transfer the Turkish experience and Turkish entrepreneurs to the Balkans under the leadership of President Erdogan,” he said, stressing that they are happy to implement this project in Skopje.
Turkish Ambassador Sekizçok said that the initiation of a large construction project in the heart of the city of Skopje requires vision and experience.
He emphasized that this project was built with an understanding appropriate to the spirit of today.
“This important project realized in Skopje consists of different components. All parts of this project will be completed soon. ‘Diamond Mall’, which we are opening today, with its elegance like a jewel and its recognizable style, brings an enriching dimension to the city culture in Skopje. Without a doubt, it will be a source of inspiration for the urban planners of our time,” he added.
The General Director of Halkbank, Osman Arslan, expressed satisfaction that they contributed to the realization of this project.
“We are the third largest bank in Turkey. But I would like to emphasize with pleasure that we are in the position of the fourth largest bank in North Macedonia”, he said.
“We have faith in the future of North Macedonia, and as Halkbank we will continue supporting the economy of North Macedonia,” added Arslan.
After the speeches, the invited guests, including Prime Minister Kovacevski, walked through the shopping center.
