Saudi Airlines announced an increase of 35% in the number of guests transferred on its flights network in the first quarter of 2023, compared to the same period last year, when about 7 million guests were transferred.
The company said in a statement, yesterday, Tuesday, that among these passengers, about 3.8 million international passengers, a significant increase of 94%.
The company stated that these statistics confirm what “Saudi Arabia” seeks to connect the world with the Kingdom, at a time when it also transported 3.2 million internal guests.
During the first quarter of 2023, Saudi planes flew over four continents around the world through more than 42,000 flights, an increase of 5%, and flight hours exceeded 127.5 thousand flight hours, an increase of 26%.
And the statement continued: “Growing rates have been achieved internationally by recording a growth of 40%, as more than 18.3 thousand flights were operated, and flight hours recorded a growth of 55.2%, reaching 87.3 thousand flying hours, in addition to the implementation of 23.6 thousand domestic flights, with a total of 40.1 thousand flying hours.” “.
Ibrahim bin Salman Al-Kashi, CEO of Saudi Airlines for Air Transport, stated that the growing rates achieved during the first quarter of 2023 came in accordance with an operational plan that takes into account the provision of more flights and seat capacity, taking into account operational efficiency and maintaining the rate of flight discipline, in line with what is being done. It provides services that contribute to enhancing the travel experience and attracting the loyalty of more guests from all over the world, perhaps the most prominent of which is the “Your Ticket is a Visa” service, which enables visiting guests to reach the Kingdom by digitally linking the transit visa with the airline ticket and issuing it easily.
Al-Kashi added that “Saudi Arabia” contributed to its network of flights and quality services during the last period by keeping pace with the comprehensive development movement the Kingdom is witnessing in all fields, including transporting visitors, tourists and organizers to attend many events, exhibitions and conferences, thus continuing its strategy to bring the world to the Kingdom in addition to its keenness To transport more pilgrims performing pilgrimages, and in addition to that, its fleet of aircraft continues to link the Kingdom with a network of regular flights, pointing out that the next stage will witness a new challenge, the imminent announcement of the start of the implementation of the plan for the summer and Hajj seasons.
It is noteworthy that the operations of “Saudi Arabia” will witness growth during the coming period, as it will soon receive its first “Airbus A 321 NX” aircraft, and more new aircraft of this type will join in addition to the “Airbus A 321 XLR”, as well as the completion of the quorum of the previous order from Boeing B787 The total new aircraft that will be added to its fleet by 2026 will reach 38 aircraft, in addition to the recently announced deal with Boeing to add 39 new B787 aircraft with the option of adding 10 more aircraft.
