Nutritionist Mikhail Ginzburg said that New Year’s salads prepared with mayonnaise can be stored for about 24 hours.
In an interview with the Zvezda TV channel on Wednesday, December 29, the specialist clarified that it is important that these dishes do not sit on the table for a long time.
“We put them on the table, they stand there for half the night, warming themselves. During this time, there is a bacterial process, and then we move them to the refrigerator, where this process continues, just slowly. Every time we take it out, we stimulate this process again, ”the doctor explained.
He stressed that salad cannot be stored in an open container, it must be covered with cling film. The specialist also noticed that fresh products should be used to prepare the salad, writes RT. He explained that sausage has its own expiration date, and if on December 31 sausage bought 10 days before is cut into a salad, it is unlikely that the salad will remain “in good condition” for a long time, notes the 360 TV channel.
