The oldest choir in the world will arrive in Peru as part of its world tour

Great news for fans of choral music. The Tabernacle Choir, recognized as the oldest choir in the world, will arrive in Peru with its “Songs of Hope” tour. Our country will be the first destination in South America for the tour and the presentation will be next February 22, 2025 at the National Stadium. The choir will perform alongside the Temple Square Orchestra, an all-volunteer symphony orchestra organized in 1999 and made up of more than 150 instrumentalists.

Founded in 1847, the Tabernacle Choir has been a pillar of choral music worldwide and is currently led by renowned composer and conductor Mack Wilberg. Its carefully selected members work alongside professional orchestra musicians to deliver unforgettable performances on the most prestigious stages. For its presentation in our country, the choir will arrive with a team made up of 360 volunteer members, both men and women, in addition to about 440 members of its staff, which ensures a unique presentation.

For the president of the choir, Michael O. Leavitt, the performance in Peru is an event greatly anticipated by everyone in the choir: “This will be the first time that the choir performs in Peru and we hope to share the messages of hope and peace that are can be found in choral music. We are very excited about this presentation.”
