In Yaroslavl, orderlies from a psychiatric hospital team beat a patient in an elevator. This was announced on Monday, August 23, by the public “Free Yaroslavl” in the social network “VKontakte”.
The report says that the orderlies took the girl from the apartment building. A video footage of the incident was also published on the network. They show two orderlies beating a patient while they are taking her in an elevator. The men hit the girl in the head and stomach after the elevator doors close, behind which there are people. At the same time, the girl screams and tries to escape, writes “Moscow 24”.
After all three got out of the elevator, traces of blood remained on the floor, writes Life.ru.
On this incident, the Investigative Committee and the Prosecutor’s Office began to check, writes “Gazeta.ru”. The case was personally taken over by the regional prosecutor Dmitry Popov, writes “Ridus”.
According to REN TV, the men inflicted 20 blows on the patient. It is possible that the orderlies continued to beat her even after leaving the elevator, where there are no CCTV cameras. According to preliminary data, the incident took place in an apartment building in the Frunzensky district of the city.
On the fact of what happened in the health department of the region, they also began to check, notes the TV channel “360”. The patient was examined by a therapist and a neurologist. The dezdrav said that her physical condition does not cause concern among doctors, the website aif.ru writes.
According to the director of the Department of Health and Pharmacy Vasily Tubashov, the orderlies have already been suspended from work, the website kp.ru writes. He stressed that the actions of the ambulance staff of the hospital violate ethical norms, as well as universal human values and “cast a shadow on the entire regional institution.”
“Not to mention that they are the subject of inspection by law enforcement agencies. In this regard, it was decided to dismiss these employees from work at the time of the inspection, ”REGNUM quotes Tubashov.
The department also provided all the necessary documents for the inspection.
Yaroslavl deputy Natalia Bobryakova told the Federal News Agency that she had talked with the relatives of the beaten girl. It is known that the patient is a single mother, to whom relatives came to visit. They noticed that the woman was behaving strangely, was in a depressed state, so they were afraid to leave her alone with the child. She did not allow to take the baby away, she started to panic, because she thought that they wanted to take the baby away from her. After that, the district police officer and the mental health team were called to the scene.
According to the girl’s relatives, the orderlies were in a state of alcoholic intoxication and began to apply physical force to the patient even in the apartment, which caused indignation among the relatives. The stepfather decided to pick up the child and went down the stairs.
