A thief tried to rob an ATM in Badvelu, Kadapa district. Locals are worried that another attempt was made to rob a shop in Badvelu before the incident of Rs 2.60 lakh being stolen. The assailant tried to rob two shops along with a private ATM near a vegetable market on Porumamilla Road on Saturday midnight.
The details are as follows: A young man named Suman runs a customer service point near the Badvelu vegetable market. He set up a private ATM in the same shop. At midnight on Saturday an unidentified assailant broke the shutter and entered. He unbuttoned his shirt and pants and tried to steal. However, he withdrew from the ATM before it was fully open.
A young man nearby broke the reservation counter shutter and attempted to steal. However, he was stunned by the lack of money in it. Another shop next door was smashed shutters and he tried to steal there as well.
However in the wake of the recent theft pre-caution merchants did not keep money in the store. The thief did not find a single rupee in three places.
