Today, the Veli Efendi racecourse in Istanbul, Turkey, will host the tenth leg of the 31st edition of the President of the State Cup for Purebred Arabian Horses, for the first time in the history of the prestigious cup races.
The Grand Cup series is held with the support and guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, with the aim of encouraging the acquisition and care of purebred Arabian horses, raising their status in all countries of the world, developing their presence in the most important international festivals and races, and preserving their authentic history.
The Turkish station will witness the participation of 12 horses representing the best and strongest horse stables in the Republic of Turkey in the precious cup race, which is held over a distance of 1600 meters in the third category and is designated for colts and fillies aged four years and above.
For his part, Faisal Al Rahmani, General Supervisor of the President’s Cup Arabian Horse Race Series, said: “Organizing the tenth stop in the Republic of Turkey is a translation of the support and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and his great interest and keenness to support owners and breeders of Arabian horses in Turkey and all countries of the world.
