According to a Russian serviceman, 16 mines were found and cleared on June 11, five of them in the port water area, and the rest were anti-amphibious mines on the beach.
“By the end of today, the beach will be completely cleared of mines,” RIA Novosti quotes him as saying.
Thus, the RF Armed Forces ensured the safety of navigation in Mariupol.
Earlier, on June 3, it became known that a ship of the Slavutich type, loaded with coils of sheet metal, arrived in Rostov-on-Don. It was the first ship to call at the port of Mariupol after the city was liberated from Ukrainian armed formations. The fact that this ship left the port of Mariupol became known on May 31. On the same day, the head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), Denis Pushilin, announced that part of the ships in the port of the city would come under the jurisdiction of the DPR, and the republic would have its own merchant fleet.
