The Saudi Cabinet, in its meeting today, Tuesday, headed by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, approved the organization of the Premium Residency Center.
The Premium Residency System, one of the residency regulations in Saudi Arabia, was approved by the Council of Ministers on May 14, 2019 within the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, and grants the beneficiary a number of benefits in return for a one-time fee to obtain permanent residency, or annually in exchange for obtaining temporary residency with the same benefits, and is not required The applicant must be a resident of Saudi Arabia.
During its meeting, the Cabinet stressed the importance of joint action to address the challenges arising from the recent geopolitical tensions and the ongoing repercussions of the Corona pandemic, as well as the importance of prudent climate policies to ensure the stability of energy markets, including the balanced and necessary transformation of global economic stability.
The Council of Ministers expressed its satisfaction with the growth of the Kingdom’s gross domestic product by 9.6% in the first quarter of 2022 compared to the same period in 2021, at the highest growth rate during the past ten years, driven by the increase in oil and non-oil activities.
He also authorized the Minister of Communications and Information Technology – or his representative – to discuss with the South African side a draft memorandum of understanding between the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the government of the Republic of South Africa for cooperation in the field of communications and information technology, to sign it, and then submit the final signed copy, to complete the regulatory procedures .
The Cabinet agreed to authorize the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Export Development Authority – or his representative – to negotiate with the International Trade Center of the World Trade Organization and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) regarding a draft memorandum of understanding between the Saudi Export Development Authority in Saudi Arabia And the International Trade Center of the World Trade Organization and the United Nations Conference on Development (UNCTAD) to cooperate in the field of developing non-oil exports, sign it, and then upload the final signed copy, to complete the regulatory procedures.
The Cabinet approved a memorandum of understanding in the field of preventing and combating corruption between the Control and Anti-Corruption Authority in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Administrative Control Authority in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The Council agreed to adopt the (Ministry of Foreign Affairs Visa Platform) currently in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to be the unified national platform for visas, and for the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development – through its platforms – to be responsible for all work visa applications submitted by natural or legal persons and send them to the unified national platform for visas at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
