The competitions of the 12th edition of the “Sheikha Hind Women’s Sports Tournament” begin today, organized by the Dubai Sports Council under the patronage of the wife of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, Her Highness Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum. Bin Juma Al Maktoum, with the aim of attracting female sports talent and spreading awareness of the importance of practicing sports for women. Its competitions will continue until October 30, with the participation of more than 1,200 female players.
The Dubai Sports Council stated, in a press statement, that this year the tournament includes organizing eight various sports tournaments, which are: bowling, running, cycling, padel, badminton, archery, steeplechase, and triple basketball.
The statement said: “All competitions will be held during the evening so as not to conflict with the working hours of the female employee participants, and so that the players and the public can attend and participate in the competitions without the need to be absent or leave work early.”
He added: “The laws in force in the local federations will be applied in arbitration, with the addition of all the provisions that were introduced in the federations. The regulations and laws regulating the tournament have also been put in place in a manner commensurate with the nature and capabilities of the members of governmental, semi-governmental and private departments and institutions, and in a manner that does not violate the laws followed in the federation of each sport.” Of the sports included in the course.
The bowling championship launches the tournament’s competitions, as the championship competitions, which are held at the Dubai International Bowling Center in the Al Mamzar area, begin at three in the evening today.
The five-kilometre running race will be held tomorrow in Expo City Dubai, and the padel championship will begin on Friday, October 18, at the Just Padel Club in Port Rashid and continue until October 20. The badminton championship will also begin on October 21 at Al Nasr Sports Club and continue until the 24th, and the bicycle race will be held. The 30 km aerobic race will be held on the 25th at the Al Forsan Park track in Expo City, Dubai. The shooting championship will be held on the 26th at the Fazza Sakton Shooting Range in Al Ruwayyah. The steeplechase race will be held on the 27th at the Gravity Gym Club in Al Quoz. The three-way basketball tournament (3×3) will be held in Al-Nasr Club from 28 to 30 October.
