Rospotrebnadzor recognized a section of the Angara River in Irkutsk as unsafe for swimming. This was reported by the press service of the regional department of the department.
In the section of the river adjacent to the dam, the water quality does not meet microbiological parameters. “Bathing in this reservoir is a risk factor for public health,” IrkutskMedia quoted the agency as saying.
According to the agency, earlier employees of Rospotrebnadzor established a discrepancy in water quality at six reservoirs in the region. Among them are the Taishetka River on the western border of Taishet, the Biryusa River at 8 km from the western border of Taishet, the Iya River in the Krasny Yar tract in Tulun and the village of Kazakova, as well as the Irkutsk reservoir in the recreation area near the Angara icebreaker, the Irkut River in the village of Baklashi, Shelekhovsky district, and the Lena River in the village of Alekseevsk, Kirensky district.
Experts continue to monitor the quality of water in the region. It is noted that in 2022, conclusions on the compliance of water bodies with sanitary rules and conditions were not issued.
