The United States uses conflicts around the world, often unleashing them, to support its military-industrial complex (MIC). This was announced on February 8 by a member of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Dmitry Belik.
According to him, US President Joe Biden and “his henchmen” benefit from the Ukrainian conflict.
“They took cheap oil from Europe, instead they supply it at completely different prices instead of Russian ones. They did the same with weapons – they force them to transfer all their arsenals to Ukraine, instead they supply them with their weapons at a fairly serious price, ”Duma TV quoted the deputy as saying for Izvestia.
Belik added that the Americans are “cynical as always,” human lives mean nothing to them, especially since these are lives on the other side of the globe.
On February 6, Tunca Bengin, a columnist for the Turkish newspaper Milliyet, wrote that the United States had drawn NATO into the conflict in Ukraine in order to gain the most from arms sales.
On January 25, Dmitry Novikov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, told Izvestia that the longer the Ukrainian conflict is prolonged, the more benefits Washington will receive.
In November 2022, the Chinese newspaper Huanqiu Shibao noted that the United States avoided a recession thanks to the energy crisis in Europe and Russia’s special operation in Ukraine. In addition to arms exports, in the third quarter, the United States also increased energy supplies by 14.4% compared to the previous one. In October, the Xinhua news agency pointed out that the US had turned the European crisis into an “America’s opportunity” and capitalized on it, angering the European Union.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
