After renewed violence and clashes in Darfur during the past weeks, amid the continuing political crisis, a member of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, Al-Hadi Idris, stressed that failure to reveal what happened in West Darfur would open the door to international intervention.
He also stressed in statements today, Tuesday, that these events should not pass without knowing the truth and holding those responsible for the killings accountable, according to what was reported by local media.
The only solution is through dialogue
In addition, he warned that the country is going backwards frighteningly, saying: “It will collapse if things are not corrected.” He stressed that there is no solution to the political crisis except through dialogue.
The Vice-President of the Sudanese Sovereign Council, Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, nicknamed Hemedti, also stressed yesterday the importance of dialogue to resolve the political crisis in the country.
In turn, the President of the Council, Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, called for rising above the differences.

political crisis
It is noteworthy that Sudan has been living since October last year (2021) a political crisis between the civilian and military component, which led to the dissolution of the government and the imposition of a state of emergency.
However, Al-Burhan stressed, last week, the intensification of dialogue between the political parties in order to come up with a solution.
At the same time, tribal clashes erupted in Darfur, which complicated the scene further in the country, especially as that region has a history of heavy wounds. The conflict that erupted in Darfur in 2003 killed nearly 300,000 people and displaced 2.5 million from their villages, according to the United Nations.
Sharara Darfur
The spark of this conflict was set off when members of ethnic minorities took up arms against the Khartoum regime, and the central authorities responded with stern force.
Although the major rebel factions signed a peace agreement in 2020, the region is still witnessing tribal violence against the background of the exploitation of agricultural areas, livestock and the use of water.
