The national team concluded its participation in the 26th Arabian Gulf Football Cup, with its exit from the group stage for the third time in a row, after recording shocking numbers that contributed to its failure to qualify for the semi-finals, as it possessed the ball and shot intensely, but far from being effective offensively.
“Al-Abyad” achieved negative numbers that contributed to the weak outcome of its participation in the tournament currently being held in Kuwait, most notably scoring only three goals, one in each match, even though “Al-Abyad” shot 42 balls in the three matches, with a success rate of less than 1%. Yahya Al-Ghassani is considered the most dangerous in leading the national team’s attacks, after he scored two goals and shot 11 times in the three matches, three of which went towards the goal.
Five players participated in all the team’s matches in the tournament, namely Khaled Issa, Khaled Al-Dhanhani, Khalifa Al-Hammadi, Marcos Meloni and Yahya Al-Ghassani, while Portuguese coach Paulo Pinto included 19 players in the three matches.
As for the team’s incomplete attacks, the players committed an offside offense three times, twice against Kuwait and once against Qatar.
