Social media platforms circulated a video clip of Al Ain player Eric performing therapeutic exercises at the Kingdom Arena following the team’s match against Al Hilal Saudi Arabia in the second leg of the AFC Champions League quarter-finals.
The Brazilian player went out injured in the first half after he had scored the first goal for Al-Zaeem.
After the end of the match and Al Ain’s qualification to the AFC Champions League final, Eric conducted therapeutic exercises under the supervision of the club’s medical staff. He crawled on his knees along the field to strengthen the foot muscles and started the physical therapy program early in preparation for the upcoming matches.
At the same time, a number of Al Hilal fans in the stadium believed that the Brazilian player was provoking the audience after the team was eliminated from the continental championship.
Watch this sad clip:
Al Ain player Eric, despite his inability to walk, went to console the losing crowd, and the response (throwing water cans at him) was a shameful act!
It’s a shame, I swear 🙂pic.twitter.com/Bdh0fFL3RN https://t.co/VmLTeb3MPD
