The “Tork” cycling team, a team of amateur Emirati citizens, is holding a camp in Slovenia, with the support of the Emirates General Petroleum Corporation “Emarat” and “Etihad Airways”, the national carrier of the Emirates, as an embodiment of social responsibility between national institutions and local teams to support youth and sports. .

The Turk team arrived in Slovenia, where it is conducting its training for 3 weeks, with the participation of 5 Emirati riders, in order to prepare for the upcoming events in the new season, most notably the local competitions organized by the UAE Cycling Federation, and the largest cycling ladder championship of its kind in the world for amateur cycling competitions. The team is also looking forward to participating in the Sharjah International Tour and the Bahrain Tour also this year.

Etihad Airways’ support came in the form of providing a flight for the team, as well as transporting bicycles, team equipment, and others.

Zaal Khalifa bin Zaal, director of the Turk team, considered that the choice of Slovenia to set up the camp for the second time came in view of the importance of cycling in this European country that is full of champions of the game, in addition to the availability of the necessary equipment for preparations, and the presence of terrain that contributes to raising the levels of riders. And equip them in the best way possible before the start of the official competitions.

Ibn Zaal thanked the national institutions supporting this camp, which reflects their interest in interacting with society and motivating the countrymen in various fields, including sports, believing in its importance in general, and bicycles in particular in achieving many benefits and benefiting from the facilities and tournaments provided by the wise leadership for this sport. increasingly prevalent in the country.
