The UAE beach soccer team achieved its second successive victory in the Asian Cup, after defeating the Malaysia national team (5-3), today, Saturday, at the Jamtim Arena in the Thai city of Pattaya.
The goals of the UAE national team were scored by Ali Al-Mohammadi, “two goals”, Ahmed Bishr, Walid Bishr and Abdullah Abbas
The match was witnessed by Ali Hamad Al-Badwawi, member of the Football Association Board of Directors, Chairman of the Beach Soccer Committee.
The first round, which was held yesterday, witnessed the victory of White Beach over Uzbekistan (4-0), and Iran over Malaysia (14-5).
The UAE national team and the Iranian team secured qualification for the quarter-finals of the Asian Championship after they reached the sixth point, while the Malaysian and Uzbek teams’ hopes of qualifying faded after losing in the first and second rounds.
The UAE national team will meet Iran on Monday, while Malaysia will face Uzbekistan in the third and final round of the group stage.
The first two teams from each of the four groups qualify for the quarter-finals, whose matches will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, March 22 and 23, provided that the two semi-final matches will be held on the 25th, knowing that the final match will be held on Sunday, March 26.
