The cycling team recorded an exemplary start in the Asian Championship for People of Determination currently being held in the city of Almaty, Kazakhstan, after winning five medals (two gold, two silver and a bronze) in various races in the tournament in light of strong competition with the champions of the continent.
The national team is represented by players Ayed Al-Ahbabi, Ahmed Al-Badwawi, Abdullah Al-Balushi, Saeed Al-Dhaheri, Salem Al-Junaibi, and Salama Al-Khateri, along with the mission’s administrator, Dhafer Al-Marqab, and coach Muhammad Al-Marwi.
Champion Salama Al Khatri won the gold medal in the (C5) category for females, Ayed Al Ahbabi won gold in the (H3) category for men, and Ahmed Al Badawi won silver in the (C5) category for men, which is the same category in which player Abdullah Al Balushi achieved fourth place.
National team player Salem Al Junaibi also won a silver medal in the (C3) category, while Saeed Al Dhaheri won a bronze in the (H4) category.
With these results, the national team has achieved a new achievement that is added to the record of achievements for the sport of people of determination in general and for cycling in particular, with the team’s players rising to the podium in all the competitions in which the champions of people of determination participated in the highest Asian competitions for the game.
