The UAE receives 20 international sporting events within 10 days

The UAE hosted more than 20 global and international sporting events over the course of about ten days, from late February to early March, between tournaments, events and conferences with an intense audience.

These events confirm the UAE’s position and weight on the global sports map, and that it is the ideal destination for the best athletes in the world.

The events included equestrian, rally, martial arts, tennis, triathlon, skydiving, water skiing, football, athletics for people of determination, polo and karate.

At the forefront of the events hosted by the UAE was the World Endurance Championship in the village of Abu Dheib on February 25, with the participation of 122 male and female riders representing 36 countries, including some of the best riders around the world.

It also hosted the 32nd edition of the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge, over the course of seven days, starting from February 26, with the participation of 150 competitors, representing a group of the most brilliant drivers and riders, a participation that increased by 35 percent from last year, according to the Emirates Motorsports Organization.

Abu Dhabi hosted the World Sports Leaders Summit (LEADERS), at the Convention Center in Yas Marina Circuit, for two days, organized by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, and with the participation of 450 international sports pioneers and decision-makers.

On the 3rd and 4th of March, the Yas Marina Circuit hosted the Abu Dhabi International Triathlon Championship, with the participation of elite international triathlon athletes and a large number of sports enthusiasts coming from different parts of the region and the world, as the age group races witnessed the participation of more than 1,000 participants from 74 nationalities. .

Last Saturday, the Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City hosted the fourth mixed martial arts championship for juniors, with the participation of elite male and female players of different nationalities.

At the same time, the second International Skydive Abu Dhabi Skydiving Championship was held, which witnessed the participation of more than 100 male and female jumpers, representing 13 teams from different countries in the region and the world.

The UAE Water Skiing Championship was held in Abu Dhabi over two days, with a record participation of 85 competitors, from 17 countries, to be the first time that this number of competitors participated in the local competition.

The Dubai Club for People of Determination hosted the 14th edition of the Fazza International Athletics Championship for People of Determination (Grand Prix Dubai 2023), with the participation of 700 male and female players from 66 countries.
