The UAE Special Olympics athletes began their training camp at the Amirosi Resort in Uzbekistan, in preparation for the Special Olympics Winter Games “Turin 2025”, which will be held next March.
The delegation includes 10 players of determination with mental and developmental disabilities, who are undergoing intensive training that will continue until the 17th of this month.
The UAE Special Olympics delegation will participate in the Turin 2025 Games in six sports: snow walking, cross country, figure skating, alpine skiing, speed skating, and snowboarding. The players participating in the Turin 2025 Games were selected from various clubs for people of determination in the country.
For his part, the National Director of the Special Olympics UAE Foundation, Talal Al Hashemi, said in press statements: “We look forward to the players leaving the camp fully prepared, and that their participation in the Special Olympics Winter Games will be a new addition to their records of success abroad.”
