The rider of the UAE team, Diego Ulissi, scored his first victory of the season in the penultimate stage of the Tour of Oman, after covering a distance of 204.9 km from the state of Izki to the Yiti Heights. And Pascal Ackermann surprised the riders during the climb with a strong start eight kilometers before the end of the race, forcing the other teams to catch up with him.
Along the way, Ulissi and his Formula 1 and Llanglen teammates helped cut the kilometers towards the base in the final part of the race, with only 2km remaining, and with the road flat, Ulissi used his pace to overtake Axel Zengel of the Cofidis team, claiming his first win of 2023.
With this victory, Ulissi becomes second in terms of the general classification, and leads in terms of points classification, and comes after Matteo Jorgensen (of the Movizar team) with five points, before the fifth and final stage scheduled for tomorrow from the state of Samail to Jabal Akhdar (with a distance of 152.2 km).
