Washington is allocating more than $10 billion to support Ukraine’s budget and its energy infrastructure. This was announced on February 24 by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, according to a statement on the State Department website.
“This week, as a result of congressional bipartisan support, the United States began disbursing $9.9 billion in additional budgetary support to the government of Ukraine,” the head of American diplomacy said.
According to him, the allocated funds are of decisive importance for Ukraine.
“Continued U.S. economic assistance has helped rally other international donors, including commitments from the European Commission, Japan, Canada and the UK through 2023, to provide Ukraine with the economic assistance it needs,” Blinken added.
He concluded that the United States is committed to working with allies and partners to support the people of Ukraine.
On February 20, Blinken announced US plans to allocate $10 million to support Ukrainian energy infrastructure. The funds will go to emergency aid to Kyiv.
Earlier in February, he noted that the United States had no doubts about the victory of Ukraine. According to him, the Ukrainian military is fighting “for their country, for their future, for their land.”
Prior to that, on February 14, State Duma deputy Andrei Svintsov said that part of Western society understands the futility of supporting Ukraine.
The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on the eve expressed confidence in the country’s victory in the current confrontation.
The special operation of the Russian Federation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced last year on February 24, continues. This decision was made by Putin against the backdrop of the aggravation of the situation in the LPR and DPR due to increased shelling by the Ukrainian military.
