The White House said that the US National Security Adviser, Jake Sullivan, spoke to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Tuesday, and that they discussed several issues, including Iran and steps to end the war in Yemen.
A White House statement said Sullivan “highlighted the remarkable progress in Yemen over the past year, where fighting has all but stopped under a UN-brokered truce.”
The US National Security Adviser also welcomed Saudi Arabia’s “extraordinary efforts to pursue a more comprehensive road map to end the war,” and offered the United States’ full support for these efforts.
Sullivan indicated that the special envoy to Yemen, Tim Lenderking, will be in the region in the coming days.
Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, also met in Jeddah, on Tuesday, with US Senator from South Carolina, Senator Lindsey Graham.
During the meeting, according to what was reported by the Saudi Press Agency, “SPA”, they reviewed the friendship relations between the two countries, and a number of issues of common concern.
