Kyrgios has been plagued by injuries this season, but has recently said his health is fine. However, a wrist injury ruled him out of the event in the British capital.
“I am very sorry to have to withdraw from Wimbledon,” the Australian admitted.
“During my return to the game, I experienced pain during the tournament in Mallorca. I decided to do some research and the scan showed a torn ligament in my wrist“- he explained.

At this year’s Wimbledon, Kyrgios was scheduled to face the Belgian in the first round David Goffin. Now his place in the main bracket will be taken by a “lucky loser” from qualifying.
The final 12 months ago was the biggest success of the Australian in his career, although he has won seven ATP tournaments.
