The World Trade Center Is Coming To Kolkata

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that the World Trade Organization will open a branch office in the US’s ‘World Trade Centre’, Kolkata. The MoU will be signed soon. The process of land acquisition is going on. A delegation from the World Trade Center will reach Kolkata on March 21. The arrival of the trade center will also create many business opportunities in Kolkata. It will also boost business partnership between the two countries. Mamata Banerjee says.

The World Trade Center, formerly known as the Freedom Tower, is located in New York, USA. The World Trade Center was destroyed after the September 11 terrorist attacks. It was rebuilt after this. The World Trade Center was a large commercial complex consisting of seven buildings in Lower Manhattan, New York City. The trade center opened on April 4, 1973.

Kolkata is now leading the way in attracting business to the country and taking advantage of business opportunities. Bengal’s Silicon Valley hub is a large IT park in Kolkata. Big companies like Reliance, TCS, Capgemini etc have invested. The IT park is being prepared on 100 acres. Global data center and telecommunication company NTT has announced to invest Rs 2000 crore in a data center in Kolkata over the next few years. Now, Kolkata has huge human resource potential. Many graduates are studying from many reputed educational institutes. Along with Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune and Mumbai in terms of quality of life and job opportunities, there are cities in Kolkata.
