On the morning of November 8, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador announced a decree to return passenger train operations in the country.

On the morning of this November 20, the decree was published to declare it as a priority area for national development “lto the provision of public passenger rail transport service in the Mexican Railway System”.

Then, public transportation concessionaire companies will be the first invited to present projects for passenger transportation. They have until January 15, 2024 to do so.

- Mexico-San Luis Potosí-Monterrey-Nuevo Laredo
- Mexico-Querétaro-Guadalajara-Tepic-Mazatlán-Nogales
- Aguascalientes-Chihuahua-Ciudad Juárez
