José María Yzazaga the composer behind the hit ‘El cervecero’, has shared new details about the agreement he made with Christian Cueva and Pamela Franco for the use of his famous composition. In a recent interview with the newspaper El Popular, Yzazaga mentioned that, although financial compensation and a couple of free performances were agreed upon, there are still parts of the agreement to be fulfilled. “The agreement is there, now they must comply with what was agreed,” said the author, making it clear that the situation is far from being completely resolved.
According to Yzazaga, the agreement includes a monetary payment and the participation of the artists in an event that he himself organizes for December 30. However, the composer clarified that all of the money has not yet been delivered. “They have given me a part, the rest is yet to be fulfilled,” he said. Jose María is confident that both Christian Cueva and Pamela Franco will keep their word, but emphasized that the December 30 deadline is crucial.
How did the agreement between Yzazaga and Christian Cueva come about?
The agreement arose after the resounding success of ‘El cervecero’, a song that has led Pamela Franco and Christian Cueva to charge high fees for their presentations. According to Yzazaga, Pamela Franco who previously charged between 8,000 and 10,000 soles per concert, now earns up to 45,000 soles thanks to the success of the song. Christian Cueva for its part, is charging up to 40,000 soles for its presentations.

Despite the high fees, the composer does not consider what he has requested to be exaggerated. “For what I have asked, it is nothing. In a week of work, what I have asked of them is covered,” he assured. Furthermore, when asked if Christian Cueva and Pamela Franco asked him to lower the price, he responded: “Like all Peruvians, they asked for an adjustment, a reduction.”
