Vakulamata Temple is situated on Peruru Banda at Old Canal in Chandragiri Constituency of Tirupati District. It is known that until the last few years, offerings were made to Lord Shiva only after ringing the bell in the Vakulamata temple. As the old temple fell into disrepair, a new temple was built in its place. A burglary attempt took place on Wednesday night at this Vakulamata temple, which is an affiliated temple of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam.
A thief climbed the hill behind the temple and broke into the temple. The thief who came in as planned took a shovel and broke the locks of the hundi. He kept all the cash in the hundi. After arranging everything, he wanted to leave, but he could not go ahead with the stolen money of Venkateswara Mahimemo. While trying to wrap the cash in the hundi, the wrap fell down. Manodi’s thieving plan was foiled due to the revelation. Afraid that the people there would wake up, the thief ran away with open arms. These scenes were recorded in the CCTV camera.
When the temple authorities complained to the police about the theft, the police reached the temple and started an investigation. With the help of Dog Squad and Clues Team, they started to identify the thief. The police seized the bundle of cash and are investigating on the basis of CCTV footage.
