Weeks ago, the Kingdom began work to rehabilitate a number of major stadiums, in order to host major competitions, most notably the 2025 Cannes Finals and the 2030 World Cup.
The Spanish newspaper “Marca” confirmed that the decision on the stadiums that will host the 2030 World Cup matches will take place next year.
The newspaper added in its report that Uruguay, Argentina, and Paraguay hosting some of the opening matches confused the process of choosing stadiums, whether for Morocco, Spain, or Portugal.
The same source highlighted that it is 99 percent likely that the pitch of the Bernabeu Stadium in Spain will host the final match of the World Cup.
King Mohammed VI had confirmed, through a statement to the Royal Court, that “the FIFA Council unanimously decided to adopt the Morocco-Spain-Portugal file as the sole nomination to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup.”
The statement explained that “this decision represents a tribute and recognition of the special position that Morocco enjoys among the major nations.”
