The Peruvian did not avoid controversy, and when referring to the questions, she said: “They have forged my character or maybe I have forged myself, you have to be attentive to everything.” These statements showed her confidence and her intention to leave her mark on the popular reality show hosted by her partner, Marcelo Tinelli.
Not only Milett Figueroa was the target of criticism, but her relationship with Marcelo Tinelli was also a cause for discussion. Many wondered if her personal connection with the show’s host influenced her inclusion as a judge. Tinelli, who has been a key figure in Argentine television for decades, was quick to speak out on the matter.
“There were several sleepless nights because of all this. What is the issue, I don’t understand, several judges have passed, at no time did they ask anyone ‘why is this one here?’, I don’t understand, why would they have to focus on her,” said Tinelli, defending Milett during the live program. His intervention was direct, and with a tone that sought to settle the controversy, he reaffirmed that his partner had been chosen for her merits.
Despite Tinelli’s support, Milett also decided to speak in her own defense, listing all the facets of her career. “I have been a contestant, singer, dancer, actress, everything, today I AM, I am coming to make a strong impact,” she stated forcefully, making it clear that she was prepared for the challenge of being a judge on a reality show of this magnitude.
Milett’s first trial as a juror in ‘Cantando 2024’
In her first turn as a judge, Milett Figueroa did not hesitate to express her opinions firmly. The first couple she had to evaluate was made up of Marcia Rubido and Agustín ‘Cachete’ Sierra. Although Figueroa praised some aspects of Rubido’s performance, she was not convinced with the choice of the musical theme. “This theme did not look good on you, Marcia. I have noticed your bass and I love it. I don’t know who chose the theme, but I did not like it. For their presentation, the coach did not defend them with this theme,” she commented critically.

Figueroa’s opinion was a mix of praise and observations, but her final score made it clear that she was not satisfied with the performance. The Peruvian gave the couple a score of ‘4’, stressing that she expected more from them. “Sorry, but I felt like it was like a rehearsal. I like them both. I know they will be able to do something better next time,” she said, displaying a balanced but demanding approach.
On the other hand, when asked if she herself would dare to sing in a future edition of the program, Milett seemed a bit nervous, but did not rule out the idea. “I would like to prepare something for them, a good show, do something nice,” she said, hinting that we could see her performing a song in the near future.
