A Threads user posted a screenshot indicating that the Meta-owned social media platform is working on a “Trending Topics” feature. It is similar to the “What’s Happening” feature as in X. However, it is not clear if the trending feature will include other categories like news, sports and entertainment as it is in the X app.
Meta employees have a special feed. There they can post things for other employees to see only. A Threads engineer shared feedback on the Trending Topics feature and allegedly mistakenly posted it on the public timeline. So this fact has come out now.
This screenshot shows the search bar and the trending topics on the platform under it. Apart from that, this feature also shows how many threads have been posted on the platform on a particular topic. Almost it looks like the feature in X.
Threads launched on July 6, 2023, trying to compete effectively with microblogging platform X. Although users are fed up with Elon Musk’s drastic measures, Threads still lacks many of the features that have made X so popular over the past few years. Thus threads are engaged in this kind of work.
