So, such a common habit as an afternoon nap is dangerous. According to the specialist, the recumbent position and sleep itself disrupt the digestive process and complicate the movement of food through the digestive system.
As a result, a person runs the risk of getting flatulence and other discomfort in the stomach. If you still want to relax after a hearty lunch, reading a book or watching a movie is the best option.
At the same time, it is not recommended to drink tea after a meal, since the infusion of tea leaves negatively affects the absorption of certain nutrients. This habit is especially harmful for people with anemia, since the use of this drink can lead to a decrease in iron by 87%.
“If not sleep or tea, then maybe physical activity? Dumbbell exercises, running, yoga … This is also not a good idea, ”said Rosemus.
She explained that strenuous exercise after a meal can lead to indigestion and stomach pain. Instead, you should give preference to a walk at a calm pace, the journalist added.
