BJP national spokesperson Shahzad Poonawala has shared Maitra’s video in his ex account. BJP leader raised the question whether TMC will take action against Maitra?
BJP leader Shehzad said that TMC MLA Lovely Maitra compared the protesting doctors to butchers. She is also the wife of an IPS in Kolkata Police, who is issuing notices and summons to doctors. Why so much hatred against the protesting doctors? Just because they are holding the Mamata government and its police force accountable. Will TMC sack them or defend them, as it defended Dr Sandip Ghosh?
On the other hand, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Tuesday warned the party’s Sonarpur South MLA Arundhati Maitra alias Lovely Maitra for her remarks on doctors protesting the rape and murder of an intern doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College. TMC has asked Maitra, who called the protesting doctors ‘butchers’, to refrain from making such statements.
Actually, Lovely Maitra is accused of comparing the junior doctors protesting against the rape and murder of a female doctor of Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College to butchers. Poor and deprived people from rural areas of Bengal come to government hospitals for treatment. These people cannot afford private hospitals. They are not getting treatment due to the protest. Are they (doctors) human beings? Is this humanity?
