Today, Kerala is born, entering Kerala at the age of 65

The state of Kerala was formed on November 1, 1956 by the annexation of Malabar, Kochi and Travancore. State of Malayalam speaking Malayalees. Even during the freedom struggle, the demand for a separate state for the Malayalees was put forward. With the independence of the country, this demand became stronger and the state was formed. On November 1, Maharaja Chithira Thirunal retired from the throne of Thiru-Kochi. Ramakrishna Rao became the first Governor of Kerala. Official development plans and changes began shortly after the EMS cabinet took office in the first election in 1957.

Behind the name:

There are various arguments regarding the origin of the name Kerala for the state. Some call it Kerala in the sense that it is a land rich in coconuts (Keram). However, it is said that the area under the rule of the Chera kings was known as Cheralam at that time and later evolved into Kerala.
