Born in Bhimuni Patnam in Visakhapatnam, Pedada Murthy worked as a journalist in a magazine called Patanjali during his graduation days. After that he came to Hyderabad and joined ‘Super Hit’ weekly. Peddada Murthy’s career as a song writer started in 1996 with the movie ‘Koothuru’ directed by Tammareddy Bharadwaj.
Later, with the encouragement of Puri Jagannath, Pedada Murthy wrote the song ‘Chelia Chelia’ for Ravi Teja’s movie Idiot. Ammananna also wrote the song ‘Neeve Neeve’ for a Tamil movie. These two songs are still heard here and there. Pedada Murthy also worked for Megastar Chiranjeevi starrer Stalin. He also contributed songs for Madhumasam, Chandamama, Kausalya Supraja Rama, Pauradu etc.
Pedada Murthy has been suffering from health problems for some time now. Family members said that he breathed his last today as his condition worsened. The family members revealed that they are going to perform the last rites of Pedada Murthy’s body in Rajiv Nagar, Hyderabad.
