Dubai: An Indian man has won a prize of more than Rs 1 crore (Dh5 lakh) in the Big Ticket draw. This is the first time he has taken a solo ticket. He works as a supervisor for a construction company in Dubai. Tedsina Murthy Meenachi Sundaram from Madurai, Tamil Nadu is the lucky one. He picked up the ticket when he found the number that matched his son’s date of birth.

Tedsina Murthy is the latest winner of the Big Ticket’s weekly electronic lottery in Abu Dhabi. He has been working in the UAE for nine years. He has been taking tickets for the last 5 years. He had taken the ticket in the hope that he would one day seek his fortune. Tickets are usually picked up with friends and brother. But when he saw his son’s date of birth, he was just taking it alone.

The ticket was picked up after returning from a holiday in India. The prize was a ticket (No: 065245). The son will turn one on the 24th of this month. He picked up the ticket because it looked similar to this number. According to the Arab media, he said he never expected the number to get lucky.

He works for a construction company. Tedsina Murthy earns a monthly salary of 2,500 dirhams. His goal is to bring his family to the UAE. He said the company does not intend to change and the decision is to stay there. Tedsina Murthy has a chance to win 20 million dirhams, a second prize of one million dirhams and two other prizes in the grand draw on June 3.
