Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cycling Federation, Mansour Bouassiba, stressed the importance of participating in the China International Tour, which will be held over three days. He said, “It is an ideal opportunity for a new group of cyclists, in addition to the first appearance of the national coach, Ahmed Al-Marri, in order to empower a large number of national coaches as well, after Al-Marri’s accreditation by the International Federation.”
Yesterday, the UAE cycling team left to participate in the International Tour of China, which will be held in the Chinese city of Shanghai from the 20th to the 22nd of this month, with a new group of cyclists, namely Waleed Al Naqbi, Mohammed Al Sabbagh, Saeed Habash, Omar Al Mashghouni, Abdul Rahman Al Balushi, and Mohammed Al Alili, led by the national coach Ahmed Al Marri.
“The selection of new riders comes within the framework of our keenness to support the new generations and provide them with experience and skills through interaction with elite riders from all over the world,” Bouassiba told Emarat Al Youm. “Participation in the tour is not just for the sake of being present, but to gain experience and achieve a positive result, which is what we expect from these riders to prove themselves among a group of riders.”
The cycling team will participate in more than 3 world championships during the coming period, as part of the federation’s plan to support the game.
