The same rush was experienced on Monday and Tuesday. The authorities had said the other day that there has been a huge increase in the number of people arriving at the King Fahd Causeway and the number of people crossing the causeway has reached a new record. It was after this that a huge rush was felt here. Traveling through the King Fahd Causeway would have taken less time to reach Saudi Arabia from Bahrain. But now is the big time for travel. Due to the rush, travel through the causeway was even temporarily stopped on Tuesday morning.

This is the highest number of passengers in the causeway’s history. It is reported that 136498 people traveled across the bridge last day. Passengers cross this bridge at the rate of 5000 per hour and 94 per minute. In January 2020, the record of 131000 people traveled in a single day has now been broken.
A Malayali family from Saudi was also affected by the travel crisis on the causeway. They arrived in Saudi Arabia on visitor visas when they were going to Bahrain to renew their visas when they got stuck in the traffic jam. Those who go to Bateen and renew their visas are stuck in this way. Children were also with them. Many people finally crossed the bridge after waiting for hours.

King Fahd Causeway authorities are planning for expansion. The aim is to increase the capacity to accommodate more passengers. It is intended to improve the convenience of travel. Repairs are also underway. It is reported that the reason for all this is the travel crisis. The authorities have not released any explanation in this regard.
