2. Miscreants surrender weapons in Manipur after Shah’s appeal, grenades included

4. Law Commission told the government- Sedition law is necessary, thissentence should also be increased
The Law Commission has submitted its report to the government regarding the 152-year-old sedition law. The commission says it needs to be maintained. There is no valid reason to remove the sedition law. However, some amendments can be made to make it more clear.
In 2022, the Supreme Court had suspended the sedition law that was going on since the British era. The court had then ordered that no case would be registered under Section 124-A of the IPC until the re-examination process was completed.
