Exhibition “The Age of Graphics. From Kazimir Malevich to Oleg Kudryashov” opens at the New Tretyakov Gallery on Thursday – it includes about 250 works, many of which have been acquired or received by the gallery as a gift in the past 20 years.
“We represent the history of graphic arts on the basis of receipts, so we have been connected in a certain way with these gifts and acquisitions for two decades. For example, the works of Anatoly Zverev did not come to us during this period, so he is not here. But we got the works of his remarkable contemporaries, and it seems to me that our picture is still quite complete, ”said Alexandra Strukova, curator of the exhibition, to Izvestia.
As Tatyana Yudkevich, scientific secretary of the Tretyakov Gallery, noted during a press show on the eve of the opening of the exhibition, over 20 years the museum has received about 3,000 graphic works. In total, there are now 50,000 such works in the funds.
